The Virtual Movement for Seniors is designed as a series of workshops using Zoom, Facebook and other virtual platforms to promote access to activities targeted at seniors to reduce social isolation. This program is being proposed specifically in response the social distancing measures put in place to combat the COVID 19 pandemic, however it also serves to increase the accessibility of wellness activities through the use of technology and can continue to do this beyond COVID 19 measures, if so desired. A series of pilot activities (chair yoga, virtual nature walks and art) were offered for three weeks from April 27 – May 14 to evaluate the viability of the program and proved that there was a demand. Based on the results of the feedback surveys from the pilot phase, this program will offer workshops during June, July and August 2020.
